Quarantine

Kiana has been out of school for 2 weeks now. It has been really hard for her with all the changes and cancellations that have been going on for the last few weeks. On Wednesday she will start doing her schooling on the computer and have video meetings with teachers. I am hoping that she does OK with this new normal but it may take sometime for her to adjust to.  Change has always been hard on her and school has always been the one thing that was consistent no matter what.

Kiana

I cant believe that it's been over 3 years since I posted the last update. A lot has happened since the last update. Kiana is now in 6th grade and performing in the school musical.

Update

Kiana is doing well. She has now finished 2nd grade and is moving on to 3rd grade. She loved her teachers this year and they adored her too.  This year was quite eventful for her. Over spring break she broke her leg so she was unable to participate in PE or play during recess untilthe last week of school. Next year is going to be a big change for kiana as her favorite teacher is leaving. Hopefully her replacement will be almost as good. Kiana loves singing and may join the school chorus next year.  She also loves to swim and will hopefully be starting swim lessons soon.  Kiana also says that she wants to play lacrosse when she gets bigger.  Kiana still has a short temper especially if things don't work the way she wants them too. Sometimes she is super difficult for me to handle, but I love her more than anything and wouldn't trade her for the world. I just wish I could see things they way she does. I wish I knew how I could help her to have the best life possible and to be the happiest she can be.

Monkey Update

Kiana is now in 2nd grade and is doing well so far. She loves that her teachers from last year are also with her this year.  We finally got the results from her genetics testing and everything came back normal. She has started seeing a behavioral therapist as well as a physical therapist as well. She still loves everything Frozen and Annie. She loves to sing the songs all the time and aggravates her sister while doing it. Kiana loves going to see her "play" doctor(physical therapy) as well as her behavioral therapist.

quick update

      Kiana is doing well. She had an appointment with a geneticist a few weeks ago and so we are waiting on the results from the DNA test that they took. She also has an appointment with the developmental pediatrician finally. Kiana starts 2nd grade in a few weeks.

           This summer we spent a lot of time at Six Flags. Kiana loved going on rides and swimming in the pool. She also loves riding the water roller coaster.

Monkey

     Monkey is doing great. We have been working a lot on her school work over the summer to try and catch her up a little bit. In two weeks she meets with a genetics doctor.  Maybe it will give us some answers to what is going on with her but I have my reservations. She really likes working on school work and loves anything school related. I'm really hoping that she gets a teacher that is as good as the one she had last year when school starts back up again. She still talks about her first grade teachers all the time. So far this summer she has started making a counting book from 1-100 and a book of numbers that add up to 10.

We have also been reading everynight before she goes to bed. so far we have read Charlottes web, Stuart little, and the trumpet of the swan. 

Update

Monkey is doing great. She met with the Orthopedist a few days ago and she said that as long as they aren't causing her any pain that they aren't going to do anything. They did give us an order form for some device to put in her shoe that would hold the problem toe in place, but due to her sensory processing disorder and her dislike of anything touching her feet I don't know if it will happen, but its worth a try. In July we meet with the geneticist to see what is going on there an see if she has any genetic abnormalities. She also needs to meet with a developmental pediatrician, but we have been having issues getting an appointment with him. She also met with her Neurologist due to her frequent headaches, she basically said for her to get lots of sleep and drink lot of water and to email her if it doesn't help.  Monkey Loves her teachers this year. Her one teacher had cancer last year so this year she has had to miss work due to doctor appointments and every time she's not there kiana gets upset and says that she's not going to school until she comes back. With Kiana we have discovered that we have to keep to an extremely strict schedule and if we go off the schedule even the slightest little bit we have a very irate 7 year old. Monkey also loves six flags and asks everyday if its the day we get to go. For the most part Monkey is a sweet and loving girl. She is the most loving person in this house and is such a joy to have around(most of the time).

Update

It has been along time sine I've posted an update for monkey. Monkey is now 7 and in first grade. She loves her teachers and has a couple of friends. She is still having some health issues. She tires very easily and gets bloody noses almost daily. She is also having issues with her feet and meets with a orthopedic doctor this month. In a few months she will also be meeting with a geneticist to see if there are any genetic problems going on.  Monkey loves to learn and play outside. She is very glad that her teacher is back, but sad she won't be there on Monday. I'm so glad that she is close to her teachers this year and that her teachers love her as much as they do.

Kiana is now in 1st grade. She loves her teachers and even has a few friends. Kiana also started girl scouts this year and loves being in daisy's. She is a very picky eater and only wants pizza, chicken nuggets or ABC soup. Kiana loves minnie mouse, frozen, and Sofia the first. She also loves playing on the iPad and with her dollhouse. Kiana likes school, but she really struggles with learning everything that she needs to learn. She as l so still prefers to be by herself. Kiana has now lost three baby teeth.

Six flags

Last weekend we went to six flags and Kiana had a lot of fun.  Well she had fun until she saw bugs bunny and daffy duck.  This kid is terrified of any type of character or anyone in any type of costume.  She did have fun riding the rides though and she is looking forward to going again.

Poor Monkey

Kiana was really sick this week. Thursday she came home from school and had a slight fever, by Thursday night it was 102.5 so i went and got her some Tylenol and Motrin. Friday she was still feverish, so i took her in to urgent care and they just said that it was viral pharyngitis and to just keep her hydrated.  Monday, she was still feeling bad so I took her her doctor and he pretty much said the same thing, but he also noticed that she had some sores on her tongue and he gave her a prescription for lidocain which she wouldn't take. Kiana is now feeling better today and is finally at school after almost a week of being home. Hopefully she continues to do well and doesn't get sick again anytime soon. She is such a pain when she gets sick.

Monkey School schedule

I know it's way past the first day of school, but we have been busy and i haven't gotten around to updating this blog.
Kiana has a very busy week with school and it starts super early. so here is monkeys schedule for school.

6:30-7:00 am wake up/eat breakfast
7:00-7:30 am get dressed and get ready to go to the bus
7:40 am leave for the bus stop
7:50-8:00 am gets picked up by the bus
9:05-350 at school
420 gets home

Kiana is enjoying kindergarten, so far anyway, and really likes her teachers and friends.  Kiana also loves Tae Kwon Do especially since now she can break boards.
Kiana is also finally fully potty trained now that she is almost 6 years old.

Update on Monkey

Kiana is doing well. She has quite the temper though. She is loving Tae Kwon Do and can't wait to test for her yellow belt the Saturday before school starts. Kiana still isn't completely potty trained, but we are still working on it. She is excited to be starting a new school again this year and to meet her new teachers. Kiana loves to go swimming and would live at the pool if she could. We just need to get her swimming lessons so that she can swim without her floaties.

ER visit

Well this weekend Kiana had to go to the ER and get stitches. Apparently she was climbing up the ladder on the bunk beds and went to jump off of the ladder to my bed and miss calculated and cut behind her ear. She cried when it happened, but got hysterical when I said that she needed to go to the hospital. She got so upset about having to go to the hospital that she ended up with a bloody nose as well, so needless to say, by the time we finally got to the ER she was covered in blood and most of it was actually from her nose and not her ear. Anyway, when we got there she refused to put on the hospital bracelet. When it was time to get the stitches she actually did quite well. she cried a little bit when they gave her the lidocaine shot, but after that she actually fell asleep while they were putting in the stitches.

Trip to Va. Beach

This past weekend we went down to Virginia beach to see uncle zach. Kiana had lots fun swimming in the hotel pool. she also loved seeing her uncle zach. While we were there the girls were running around in and out of the hotel door and kiana managed to slam her arm in the door. Luckily it was just bruised and not broken. over all it was an alright weekend. Kiana had a lot of fun spending time with zach.

last week of school

this week is kiana's last week of school. she has really enjoyed being in school this year and even when i have asked her if she wanted to stay home or go to school, she's always wanted to go to school. She is doing better using the potty and we are working on her abc's and other educational stuff. Her teachers have given her two books, a beach bucket, a hat, bubbles, and a little beach ball as an end of year treat. friday they are having a little party for their last day of school.

Kiana is doing very well. In January she turned 5 and had a great birthday. In march I signed her up for Tae Kwon Do and she loves it. She is doing very well in the classes that she goes to. She is also finishing up her final year in preschool @ mutual elementary  and getting ready to start kindergarten in the fall @ st.Leonard  elementary. She loves school and playing out side.  Kiana also loves to sing and play in the bathtub forever. She is growing up so fast and is such a joy to have in the family. I will post b-day and taekwondo pics later.

Christmas 2012

Kiana had a great Christmas this year. She got to spend time with her Aunt Rachael and uncle Noah as well as Uncles Eddie and Zach. She also got lots of presents this year. She got an Ice Age puzzle, hungry, hungry hippo game, a couple new trains from chuggington, and a laundry matching game from Kelli. She also got a Cars Guitar. Over all she had a great Christmas and loves playing with her new toys. She also loved getting new books for her tag system which reads to her.

My Monkey

Kiana is doing great, we have discovered that she is missing her corpus colosseum, but it really doesn't seem to be affecting her to much. The developmental pediatrician wants her to see a geneticist as well as a speech/language therapist. In other news Kiana loves to sing and can remember a song that she listens to forever, for example she hasn't heard the song Tomorrow from Annie is like almost a year and she sings it every day on the bus coming home. she loves to play with her blocks and doll house, even though currently we don't have the furniture for her doll house at the moment.
